So that's way good hopefully the more you do it soon you won't evenhave to worry about him crying at all. The goal is for him to be able to figure out how to fall asleep all by himself. Another rule I have is that i sing Reese two songs and that's it just to give her something before she goes to sleep but not to rock her all the way to sleep. 2 songs is good because she likes songs, but it doesn't take to long.Deamershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05840446373309795267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-422687229022354518.post-54312667260832710582008-07-10T21:10:00.000-06:002008-07-10T21:10:00.000-06:00I agree with Ashley, it's not going to kill them t...I agree with Ashley, it's not going to kill them to cry. I know you feel bad, I did too. But after they get used to it then they pretty much never will again. The sooner the better, just think if you would have done this he might allready be doing it on his own! I find that it's best to time it. Just wait at least fifteeen - twenty minutes and then go reasure him, (he may even be asleeep by then.) If not give him a little bit longer once he gets the hang of it he might be able to fall asleep on his own. by the way I have a blog as well I'd love for you to check it out. deamerfamily.blogspot.comDeamershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05840446373309795267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-422687229022354518.post-24396623556399493582008-07-06T19:49:00.000-06:002008-07-06T19:49:00.000-06:00We just did the "tough love" approach with both ou...We just did the "tough love" approach with both our boys. We just wrap them up, put them down and let them cry themselves out for the first couple of naps and then they get the hang of it. It's hard at first to let them cry but now we can put Ethan down and most of the time he doesn't even cry, he just falls to sleep after looking around his room for a few minutes. Personally I think it's something they have to learn. Hope that helps some! Good luck!Ashleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00085497678549381419noreply@blogger.com
