This One's for Lauren...

Lauren has requested a new post since I have been a blogger stranger lately. In my defense, the Ward Christmas Party has taken over our lives at this house. And with Aaron being gone all this week and leaving the Party in my little hands, it's been crazy. But I am glad to say that the Party was last night, it's over, I think it went well and so we have our lives back now at the Tatton Compound! So here a few things we have been up to in between projects for the party...
We finally made it up to North Ogden to see Grandpa Creamer. Tatton had to get his second round of the flu shot so we made a day of it and visited. I have to say that I have one of the cutest Grandpas. He just gets a kick out of babies so Tatton is well adored there.
Tatton is everywhere and into everything, seriously. He is a nonstop terror. I thought I had a few more months until he would be in the stage of pulling out everything in cupboards, opening drawers but I was completely wrong. He has no fear so he crawls into everything even if it means hitting his head 10 times just to get stuck somewhere. It's ridiculous...
I have to brag about these roses. Aaron gave me these before he left for Vegas since he felt bad for leaving me to do the ward Christmas party and because he loves me I'm sure. But that's not the reason I'm bragging about them. They were just the biggest roses I've seen. The picture doesn't do them justice. They were ginormous. And they stayed healthy for a long time. If anyone needs a good flower shop, there is one in Farmington by the Smith's that is obviously really good.
I've spent some time with my other Mama lately learning how to crochet. I wanted to make Tatton some blankets from his very own Mommy. All the ones he has have been made by family or friends so I decided I'd better learn. So Tatton has been able to play with his cousins, the crazy boys Ty and Jace while Mary Sue and I do blankets. It's been really fun.
Every year we go down to Alpine to a tree farm and cut down our own Christmas Tree. I love Christmas trees. It is so fun to walk around and smell the pine, mmm. This year we had to collect a lot of pine cones and pine boughs for the decor at the ward Christmas party while we were down there. So Tatton was strapped into the backpack and away we went. The Harman kids were a big help, thanks kiddos!
And last, Tatton yet again getting into everything. This was the big box of silverware for the ward christmas party that he decided to dump out, it was a fun game of let's pick up 300 spoons, knives and forks!

Thanksgiving Weekend

For some reason Tatton always digs out this little yellow guy from my mom's toy box. He puts the head in his mouth and crawls around with it, everywhere! I guess it's his little buddy...

Tatton and Grandpa Gold

Thanksgiving torture... I couldn't resist buying his little turkey hat to wear for Thanksgiving dinner. He was a good sport and kept it on.

Cute little fam on Thanksgiving...

This is my sister-in-law Racquel, me, my sister-in-law Challise and my niece Macquel. We went to Twilight on Thanksgiving. Yeah, I still haven't read the books but I figured why not. It was a good movie and fun to be with girls!

Better Late Than Never...

A little mushy love blurb for Aaron for our Anniversary even though it's a late post...
This picture is from when I went through the Bountiful Temple to take out my endowments. Aaron had to work a graveyard shift the night before and then ended up getting really sick. So that morning I was so sad thinking that he wasn't going to make it. But to my surprise he was ready to go early that morning with having no sleep. He puked a few times on the way down and I kept thinking that this kid was crazy to still come. But he told me that he had to be there for his girl and because this was the one time that we would be able to be on the other side. ;) I was so nervous going in that day but the first time I was able to see Aaron I was completely calmed. I'd never felt better about our decision. Aaron also had never felt better... he hadn't puked in awhile. The whole time during the temple he felt completely fine and wasn't sick. But after going out to breakfast, it all came back... That was one of the best days of the start of our many happy days together. The next few days were just a blissful blur until we got married. We just celebrated our 3rd Anniversary and I'm so happy that we stuck it out with each other through our rough engagement to finally get married! I look at our wedding pictures and we were so giddy and in love. After 3 years we're still just as in love. Even though it seems like we're maybe not as giddy as we were that day, we're closer and share a deeper love and friendship than before. He's my best friend, my roommate, a cuddle buddy, movie pal, temple partner, prayer companion, comic relief and best daddy and he's mine forever! I mean he's no Edward, but he's my Edward and I love him...

What Do BYU Students and Utah Students Have In Common?

Visit www.moblyng.com to make your own!

They both applied for BYU! Thanks Rusty for the laughs... Well on Saturday my family had a mini pre-thanksgiving dinner for some family that wouldn't be in town next Thursday. It also happened to be THE byu/utah game. Tatton is stuck in the middle. Aaron dressed him in those evil red and white colors so I had to paint some blue on his face for the cougs. I think the pictures speak for themselves. The last ones would be from the following morning when Aaron gave Tatton a piece of pumpkin pie to eat all by himself, yikes...

a few things that i LOVE...

1. my boys... of course

2. A newly found solution to showering dilemas. Usually I am able to shower at night or early in the morning before work. But on days that i'm home with Tatton I either have to wake up early before he does to shower, wait until he is napping or lock him up in the bathroom with me and hope he doesn't get into any trouble. My solution... I've put him in the shower with me. Possibly weird, maybe... but a fantastic solution, yes! He loves it. And it is multi-tasking, he gets clean too. He doesn't care at all that he's sitting on the floor getting water right into his face, he just laughs. It has been quite nice, but if any of you give it a try, might I warn you that your baby is much more slick than usual... almost dropped him yesterday.
3. Katie will appreciate this one... I actually forked out the money and bought real "professional" shampoo and conditioner. This was a big one, I am cheap. I never thought it was worth it to buy that stuff when the many various brands from WalMart seemed to be just fine for me. I was wrong. I bought Matrix Biolage smooth therapie and my hair has never been so soft and clean. I highly recommend it!

4. For some reason in my old age, my face is struggling. I used to have no problemo with acne but ever since I got knocked up, I break out so much more and easier it seems. I've watched those Bare Minerals infomercials and wanted to order it, but as you know i'm cheap. So I thought that I would first test it out by buying a cheaper imitation brand and see how it faired. I bought Maybelline's Mineral Power powder and things in that line to try out. I love it! Just the powder covers my face, evens it out and covers up acne spots really well. i don't have to wear foundation or concealer anymore so my face feels much more natural. And my face isn't as oily anymore and it's not breaking out as much as it did. So now I'm thinking after Challise and I discussed Bare Minerals since she has actually boughten it, I want to go for it and splurge for the real stuff. Either way, I think mineral anything is worth trying and probably works pretty well.

5. Very Sexy perfume from Victoria Secret. It smells so... well sexy. I love it. I walked into the bathroom at work one day and there was a girl in there who smelled so good. So I asked her what she was wearing and she informed me what it was. She told me that she gets a lot of compliments on it and people ask her all the time what it is. So I was glad I wasn't the only weirdo. Anywho, my sweet hubby surprised me with a bottle of it today. Now i get to smell Very Sexy!

6. The Backyardigans. For those of you with kids and have entered the world of "you get to watch kid shows now" this is a good one. It's the cutest little show. They dance and sing which doesn't sound that great since most shows do. But this one has the cutest, catchiest songs and Tatton will really stop and watch them. He dances when they do and gets excited at the beginning of the show. Anyway, it's cute. They are on Nick Jr. at 10am, 2pm and 6pm if you're interested. The dvd's and cd's are worth purchasing...

7. Aaron with his hat on backwards...

8. Tatton crawling. Well, that's not entirely true. Sometimes i wish he didn't because he is everywhere and into everything!!! But my favorite thing about him crawling is watching him just playing and then he'll look up at me and smile. He drops everything and crawls his way over to my lap while saying "ma" and climbs up for a hug. That's hard to beat...

In case any of you were curious...
AARON PASSED HIS TEST!!!!
Sigh, it's so nice to have that stress gone. Now we just wait to find out his score from his interview and he has a large packet, no kidding about 100 pages, of background questions he has to answer. Then he has to go have those same questions asked while he's hooked up to a polygraph machine to make sure he answered them truthfully... fun huh? I told him I wanted to sit in on that one, make sure I know all this kid's history, every dirty detail! So it looks like we really are going to be moving to Las Vegas someday, ah!

Questionable Crowd at BYU Game

Saturday Aaron and I had the chance to go to the BYU Game with my brother Ryan, his wife Racquel and their two girls Gabby and Macquel... didn't end up with a picture of them though? Anyway, so we drove down through Provo Canyon and it was so beautiful.

This was us enjoying the good game...

A little picture of the stadium, we didn't have the best seats but we couldn't complain since it was free!! They won by the way...

We were having a good time until this started happening in front of us...
These questionable acts of back rubs and sitting on each other's laps are the fine Young Men of Bear River. Why their Young Men Leaders didn't put a stop to this, we don't know. Ryan and Aaron wanted to slap the kids upside the head but luckily they refrained. Aaron took a picture of the bench in front of us to document that there was no need for them to be sitting on laps, they chose to cuddle up. Unfortunately the kid in the black and grey, his hands didn't always stay where they were. They ventured to the other guys back and legs at times. Needless to say, we weren't able to concentrate on the game.

Boys...

I was a little bored today and decided to give online scrapbooking a try. Tatton is growing up so fast right now! Everyday it seems like he is doing something new. It's amazing that his little body can do all that it does. He's crawling, climbing, standing, you name it we're right on his heels. The kid needs to wear a helmet because he has no fear and yesterday I don't know how many times he ate it and hit his head. But atleast we're not raising a whimp right? I've decided that he is all boy due to the noises, faces and mischief he gets into and he is adorable doing it all.

A Happy Halloween

A monk, a snowman and a rooster.... we had a great Halloween! This year we spent Halloween with the Gold's. Aaron and I frantically dug through my parent's old halloween box and found some costumes for the festivities. We carved our pumpkins, ate chili and lots of other food, then went trick-or-treating with all the kids. I think Tatton made it to 7 houses, not bad for his first go around, and he made out with quite a bit of candy which Aaron and I will most likely be eating! Tatton did get to eat a sucker on Halloween, a sticky, messy sucker compliments of Uncle Chad!! It was a fun night even though Tatton had no clue what was going on, next year will be even better when he's walking.

Where to Start

I have been a slacker lately. I've been meaning to get all caught up so here you go. We went to another football game up in Logan a few weeks back. Morgan won in case you were wandering. It was freezing, fun but freezing!!! Tatton was all bundled up in his snow suit, yeah it was that cold. We were able to sit with Skyler and Ashley and Kenadee who was I think with Grandma during this pic. She is so cute, I can't believe she's one already! Ashley her shoes were awesome. Anyway, we're glad we got to hang out with the Benson's, and visit good old Logan.

Royce and Lauren came home for a few days from Connecticut to visit. It was so good to see them! We decided to have Halloween while they were here so all the Tatton kids got dressed up for a little party. I think we're just missing the newest edition, Talon, in the picture. Cute bunch of kids. I was so pumped and surprised to see that my brother-in-law Brent put on his Barnie Fife costume. It was classic, he completely made my day. Just looking at this picture again makes me laugh outloud to myself.

Vegas Pictures...finally!

Well I had a minute to put some pictures of the trip on here. Um, top to bottom, Tatton sleeping on the way down... being very reverant, our pad, Aaron on his way to testing all happy and excited, our walk later that evening when Aaron was not as happy, the pools and yes Aaron's toes, Tatton and I with his new hat that we found while down there. It actually says T-Rex so of course that was a must buy for the little guy.

10 years ago I was...

1. 14, living in Park City probably at a youth conference or something.
2. Had no idea who I was or wanted in life.
3. No bills, no hubby, no kids... no life!
4. In our 8th grade play The Sound of Music... awesome I know. Just a nun in the back, I cannot sing.
5. A nanny for the best family the McLaws. I love Brad and Chris, and their kids Jacob, Rachel and Sara. Chris became my best friend and I learned and grew up so much while helping them. Miss them a ton!

5 Things on today's "To Do" list...:)...

1. Catch up the blog.
2. Some laundry and cleaning.
3. Dinner early so that we can make it to another darn football game tonight.
4. Huh, my days seem so busy with so much to do but right now I am literally stumped?
5. Oh, go through Tatton's clothes and pull out all the too small ones, pack them up, and then unpack hand me downs from Robby and Kru. Unpack my winter clothes and pack up some summer ones

5 Things I would do if I were a Millionaire...

1. Keep most in a nest egg, and some aside for a boob job or lift after having all the kids.
2. Pay off Aaron's school and our WorldMark/Wydham Share.
3. Give a good chunk to a good charity.
4. Buy a nice home with property and fill it with everything Aaron and I have ever wanted.
5. School tuition for our kids.

5 Places I would like to visit....

1. France
2. London

5 Jobs I have had...

1. 1st job: Deb's Spicy Pie... the old one pre-out of business location. Hopefully I didn't contribute to it going out?
2. Chad's Sprinkling, yup I know sprinklers. My brother Ryan managed the store, and two of my brothers and a cousin have worked there... kind of tradition I guess, good times.
3. Standard Plumbing, the only job I could find at the time up in Logan. I miss that town.
4. North Ogden Dental, surprisingly loved cleaning teeth and all that yucky stuff. I worked with my cousin who is a dentist there and it was a blast.

Vegas...

Well kids, sadly Aaron didn't pass the test. Tuesday was the testing, the written tests and then the physical test. Thursday was suposed to be the Oral Board Interview but he didn't get that far. He passed all the written tests just fine, and then started the physical test. He failed the bend and twist exercise, he had to do 15 in 20 seconds. You have to squat and touch an X on the ground, then stand-up and touch an X behind you to your left, then squat, then touch the X behind you to the right and so on. So he did 17 in the 20 seconds but he kind of pulled his back midway and so the last 4 he didn't touch the wall all the way so they didn't count them, therefor he got disqualified. Luckily he can retest next month, just the physical, he doesn't have to the written again.
When he came home and told me what happened my heart just broke. He was so upset and discouraged. My poor guy felt like such a failure so he's had a rough few days. But I told him to keep his chin up and it only delays us a month which I'm sure our Grandma's are just fine to have Tatton for another month before moving. Since we were in Vegas we decided to stay the next day like planned and have some fun before heading home. We hit the pools and then took a drive around town to apartment hunt. We found a really, really nice area that we fell in love with in Henderson called Seven Hills. We found an apartment complex that we also loved. It's just perfect! So hopefully it will all work out to move in a few months there. We left Wednesday night late so that Tatton would just sleep through the night while we drove. It took us so long to get down there with Tatton stops so we decided it would be much easier if we drove at night. We ate dinner at a very good Asian buffet on our way out... oh it was so good. I knew I married Aaron for a reason, we love stuffing ourselves with Chinese food. mmm.... Anyway, it was a good little trip and looks like we'll be doing it again next month! I'll post pictures later

Kids These Days...

So Aaron and I had a little scare thinking that kid #2 was on the way. Rest assured, I'm not pregnant. But I was standing in line at the grocery store buying that beloved pregnancy test which is still awkward for me I don't know why. So when I got up to the stand I put down the test and I think like a candy bar or something just so it wasn't so lonely. I kid you not this really young cashier, a girl, said "Oh how exciting. Or is it bad news? Oh I never know what to say to people with these." It took all of my might to keep my mouth shut, I just smiled. But in my head I was screaming "You don't say anything at all!!!" Honestly who was this girl and who raised her? Kids these days are a little worrisome at times. Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you...

MySpace Countdown Clocks
Aaron goes to Vegas next week to test for the Police Academy. He better pass... wish him luck!!!

"K-I-S-S-I-N-G"

We have had Jayden, my cute little niece, again for a few days while Talon is being taken into the hospital and Challise recovers. Today I took Jayden and Tatton outside to take some fall pictures. This is a sneak peek of Tatton's Halloween costume... a handsome little rooster! Anyway, there were a few pics that turned out pretty cute but my favorite is them kissing. I told Jayden to give "baby" a kiss and surprisingly they both dove for each other. It was full on kissing cousins! I'm so glad I caught it, they'll appreciate it when they're older...

Ugh...Twilight

I've become very anti-Twilight series lately mainly because it's rediculous how much people are obsessed with them!! So I was determined that I would not read them. But the curiousity has gotten the best of me. I really just wanted to read them now to know for myself if they are really that rediculously good or if girls have just run wild about this Edward character. As usual yesterday I was gearing up my ipod for work which usually consists of movies, the office and some good music since my job requires not a whole lot of brain activity, and added what I thought was Twilight. It got about an hour or so into it when it got cut off... stupid limeware can be very untrusting at times. As for now, I'm trying to get it all downloaded still so that I can keep listening to it at work but it's not going well. I will admit that within the first little bit I have been intrigued enough to want to continue reading... we'll see

Jane Austen

So we came across some good news this week. If anyone has become obsessed with Jane Austen as I have, you'll be happy to know that her work has been done! My parents are on a service mission right now and every once in awhile they have to come home and research things talked about in church to find out if there was any false doctrine involved. Sunday's topic you ask... the work that Wilford Woodruff did in the St. George Temple for the signers of the Declaration of Independence which was somehow brought up in testimony meeting? Anyhow so after some extensive research following their meeting, we came to find out that not only were there the signers of the Declaration, but many many others including Jane Austen. This is an excerpt from his journal: “I will here say, before closing, that two weeks before I left St. George [Aug. 1877], the spirits of the dead gathered around me, wanting to know why we did not redeem them. Said they, ‘You have had the use of the Endowment House for a number of years, and yet nothing has ever been done for us. We laid the foundation of the government you now enjoy, and we never apostatized from it, but we remained true to it and were faithful to God.’ There were the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and they waited on me for two days and two nights. I thought it very singular, that notwithstanding so much work had been done, and yet nothing had been done for them. The thought never entered my heart, from the fact, I suppose, that heretofore our minds were reaching after our more immediate friends and relatives. I straightway went into the baptismal font and called upon brother McCallister to baptize me for the signers of the Declaration of Independence [total of 56], and fifty other eminent men, making one hundred in all, including John Wesley, Columbus, and others; I then baptized him for every President of the United States, except three; and when their cause is just, somebody will do the work for them.” Journal of Discourses 19:229, Sept. 16, 1877.
Wilford Woodruff’s journal later on tells more of the “fifty other eminent men – and women” – They were people like William Thackeray, Amerigo Vespucci, Daniel Webster, Henry Clay, William Wordsworth, David Livingstone, Sir Walter Scott, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson, Lord George Byron, Charles Louis Napoleon Bonaparte, Admiral David Farragut, and Robert Burns. Some of the women were Marie Antoinette, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Sarah Barnard, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Sarah Kemble Siddons, Abigail Smith Adams - wife of John, Martha Wayles Jefferson - wife of Thomas, Dorothy Payne Todd Madison - wife of James, 10 of the eminent women were relatives of George Washington. There were 68 women (20 were not listed by name). Interesting huh? Now I just want to find out about Tom LeFroy's work...

The Last Few Days

I had a few updates to do from the past few days so I'm combining them all...
Yesterday Rusty and Challise welcomed their little boy into the family. Talon Joseph Tatton was born yesterday at about 11 am, he weighs 7lb. 11 oz. and is 19in. long. He's a little cutie, he does have dark brown hair, he has Challise's nose, the Tatton lips and I think he looks like Jayden. Anyway, my Mom, Tatton and I got to go visit yesterday and hold the little bundle. Congratulations Tatton's!!

We went to Morgan's football game on Friday against Ogden High, after a little dinner action at Javier's...yum! It had been too long. Tatton downed all of his refried beans and rice plus some. I guess we'll have to make mexican food for that kid. Anyway I just thought it was interesting that Ogden High actually still has a marching band. I haven't seen many schools anymore that do. They were really good, the girls with the flags not so much but it was still a decent production. The sunset that night overlooking Ogden was really pretty, I'm a nerd and took a picture of it. And Aaron got crazy with the camera and for some reason had to take a picture of a little something that my life consists of everyday...

My parent's cats, a brother and sister we think have had a case of insest because we're pretty sure they became mother and father by having 5 kittens. The mom has now disappeared we think to a sad death of poison from our lovely neighbor but who knows. So the kittens were just little when the mom disappeared so my mom and I had to feed them milk with a syringe until just a few weeks ago. They are now eating food and water and are ready to be adopted out! There are only 4 now due to a minor mishap involving one kitten and Aaron's motorcycle tire, but the surviving 4 are really cute and if anyone wants or knows of anyone that would like a free kitten, have at it!! Tatton loves the kitties, he likes to maul them and watch them pounce around.

Christmas Ideas...

Alright kids, Aaron and I have been called as the Activities Chair People in our ward, i.e. we get to plan our Ward Christmas Party. There are some ideas we have floating around, and Morgan does tend to kind of stick to traditions but if you have any ideas or things you have liked that your wards have done in the past please let us know! Any themes, table decoration ideas, food... anything at all we'd appreciate some fresh ideas!

And... also any ideas for a Halloween Party. We're not sure if we are doing a Halloween Party yet but it's possible so if you have any thoughts on that one too...

Best Buddies

The past week we've been able to have Jayden stay with us. Challise, my very prego sister-in-law, was put on bed rest since "Bronco" was trying to come too soon. So my Mom being the schemer that she is finagled them into letting Jayden come up here so that Challise could rest. It has been so much fun. Jayden and Tatton have become such cute little cousin buddies. It was a little touch and go for a bit, Jayden kept a close eye on her toys, and they kind of always checked out each other's bottles but after awhile Jayden was always asking for baby Tat and Tatton could not keep his eyes off her. My Mom and I got them on the same schedule so that nap times and eating times were about the same, oh and bath times. They were so cute together. Anyway I could go on and on about all the cute stuff they did, but I won't. I'm sad that she is gone, Jayden went home this morning. No more little pitter patter and "baby" to be heard. Tatton is so lonely now, he liked having someone there his size. I had to make a little slideshow of some pictures I took over the week. For the record, the chocolate pudding was all Grandma...
