Life With a Little Tatton

The toilet paper monster!

Didn't know he could reach that lamp... nap time didn't go so well that day...

da da da da da da da da Bat Man!!

A day shopping in Park City. Forgot the stroller and he had to walk everywhere!!

St. Patty's Day and the Leprechaun!!

Tatton's official birthday Radio Flyer Wagon, thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

Tatton has turned into quite the little stinker lately. He is busy to say the least, and has developed a funny little personality. He is still into everything, as you can tell, and has to walk everywhere... on his own. Very rarely do we get him to hold our hands, he's very independent. Tatton's had about a month and half worth of ear infections and we're on the last antibiotic and if it doesn't work, then he's gettin' the tubes. With all his mischief lately, he's been a little ornery and dizzy, but hopefully that will be taken care of soon. We want him back to his usual self who is happier but unfortunately not calmer...

Disney On Ice

We got the chance to go see Disney On Ice! Toni and the kids, Challise and Jayden, Gabby, Tatton and myself. Tinker Bell was a hit with the girls, and the ginormous alligator from Peter Pan had Tatton a little worried. It was really fun to watch the dancing. Tatton enjoyed the popcorn, a lot... he even tried eating it from the floor!! He got into the music eventually and did a little dancing and clapping. Thanks girls for going, it was fun, and we'll have to plan some more activities for the summer...

Grandpa Creamer

I have the cutest Grandpa ever and yesterday my Mom, Tatton and myself went to visit him. He hasn't seen Tatton in awhile so he got a kick out of him walking and saying "uh-oh" over and over. My Grandpa just turned 88 and he's still going strong. He is so funny to talk with and listen to him tell stories of the old days. Tatton is a little shy with him, but very curious about his wheel chair, so we need to do better about visiting more often. We also got to see my cousin Heather's twin girls Hadley and Kennedy. They are just a month older than Tatton. They were all being a little shy but eventually they warmed up, Hadley was still a little frightened by Tatton though. Those girls are so cute, and I loved their outfits..."thing 1 and thing 2." I was so glad to see Tatton have some interaction with someone his age, he normally doesn't really get to play with other babies so we'll have to come play again!

Happy Valentine's Day!

So our weekend ended up a lot different than planned. I had this whole big plan to surprise Aaron this year. Ok so the itinerary was to go as follows... My mom and dad were watching Tatton for us and Friday evening I was going to have the car all packed ready to go, Aaron was going to be blindfolded, and we would start driving to Logan. I hadn't decided where we were going to eat, either Cafe Sabor or I think it's called Hamilton's but I could be wrong. Anyway, so after dinner Aaron would be yet again blindfolded as I drove him to our Penthouse Condo on the shores of Bear Lake. Then on Saturday I would surprise him again by driving him up to Beaver Mountain to go snowboarding. The biggest reason I was so excited for this weekend was because Aaron and I have been waiting 3 years to go on a snowboarding date. It may sound silly but we both love to snowboard and we haven't been together yet. A possibility for our honeymoon was going to be a snowboard trip somewhere in Canada but Aaron clumsily had to break his foot that fall. So the first year we were married he couldn't snowboard because his foot was still healing. Then came summer and he broke his other foot so that winter, still no snowboarding because that foot was still healing. Then the next winter I was pregnant with Tatton. So this year is finally our chance that we can actually go snowboarding together. So back to the story, on Friday morning though I awoke feeling very ill, nausea. I thought maybe I was just really hungry so I got ready, ate some toast and headed to work. By 10 o'clock I could not handle it anymore, I left work and barely made it home in time to collapse on the couch. I was so sick, but even more than that, I was just plain mad that I was sick because all my plans went down the drain... along with the vomit. As the day went on I was convinced that maybe I would feel better soon so we decided that we still might as well go stay at the condo. If I was going to be sick in bed, I might as well be sick away from Tatton and in a king size bed. So I had to ruin the surprise and tell Aaron that we were staying somewhere and he had to help pack the bags. We got on the road and he had to drive because I was in so much pain. So another surprise out the window, he knew we were headed to Logan. I knew I couldn't eat, but Aaron still needed dinner but I couldn't go sit down in a restaurant. We had to get a to go order or drive-thru. Aaron decided on Chili's. We got the food, stopped at Hastings to get a few videos and another surprise gone when I told him we had to go to Bear Lake. The condo was beautiful and the view of the lake was really pretty. I was able to keep some soup down so the night was shaping up. I was still mad that I was sick but we did perhaps discover a new favorite movie. From the guys that made Napoleon Dynamite, they have unleashed another classic called The Sasquatch Gang. It was hilarious, well worth the purchase. By 2 in the morning I was starting to feel somewhat better and able to fall asleep. In the morning I felt a little better and was starving. So very stupidly, Aaron and I ate left over Chili's for breakfast. Ugh, I can't believe we did that. I knew I would immediately regret that decision but it tasted so good and Southwestern Egg Rolls are one of my all time favorites! Anyway, so we headed home with my tummy still a little uneasy, but doing well. We stopped at s.e.i. on our way out of Logan. It's a little scrapbook store that I've wanted to go to forever but have never made the trip. I was in heaven!! Aaron didn't quite appreciate my excitement but I can't wait to go back again. Since we didn't go snowboarding, we were home most of the day to spend with Tatton. Now that I'm feeling better, I actually loved the weekend. It didn't turn out as planned but I still was able to be with my hubby and my little love Tatton, which was enough! But mark my words, we will snowboard eventually this winter...

Lil' Stinker

As of lately, every time we open a drawer, a cupboard, the garbage can, a door, Aaron's shoes... we seem to find a stash of misplaced items from Tatton. His all time favorite though, for some reason, are remotes in the garbage can. He is awfully busy for such a little guy, always transporting toys and things from somewhere else to stash. I'd be lying if I said I missed the days of him just sprawled out on the floor, immobile, which would be nice sometimes, but it really is so funny to see what he's going to do next. He is walking now and getting into things quicker than ever! We've decided that we've wasted a lot of money into buying toys since he hardly plays with them anymore. He's busier just rummaging through all our stuff.

Jeans, Jeans, Jeans...

So you all need to take the little poll over there... I need to prove Aaron wrong that I'm not a freak about jeans!! It's a normal girl thing right?? Hmm, and maybe I should do a poll on how much people spend on a pair of jeans...

Happy 1st Birthday!!

I can't believe that Tatton is already one. This past year has gone by so fast, it makes me sad thinking of how much has changed since our little guy was born. Aaron and I were so excited that morning driving to the hospital. We hardly slept the night before since we couldn't wait to meet our little man. It turned out to be a long wait til we could see him. Tatton wasn't budging and his little heart beat started getting slower. The Dr. decided to do an emergency c-section so that we could get that little guy out. So finally at 8:30 that night we finally heard his first little cry. I couldn't see him, with the big blue curtain in the way, but I could just hear him screaming. Aaron finally brought him over and he was the cutest little fuzz ball. Aaron had his hair combed into a mohawk (sp?) just like his. I think that's probably why I love Tatton with a mohawk in his hair still, it reminds me of his first hair-do. I couldn't wait to hold him and when I was finally able to, I coudn't believe I was holding my tiny little baby boy. Now that he's one and has changed so much, I have that same feeling again. I can't believe Tatton is turning into a little boy. It's so fun to see him learn and to be so silly at this age, but it makes me sad thinking he'll never be a baby again. Anyway, so ofcourse in his honor we threw him a little party, a cowboy party, he was the outlaw. He had his own cake to destroy, which surprisingly he ate it for awhile with a fork... he's so dainty, we've taught him such good manners... Aaron had enough of that and showed Tatton how to really dig into his cake so by the end, he was eating fistfuls of chocolate cake and smearing it all over. We really didn't get him a whole lot as far as presents go seeing as how he got everything he needed and more from Christmas. He did however love the blow up car with the balls. He balled when we took him out of it to go to bed, it was very tragic. I think that's his favorite toy now. He dives in it, rolls around, climbs in and out and flips upside down in it all day long. So I think to him, his first birthday was a hit. Oh, and his front facing car seat was also one of his favorite birthday items. The first time he sat in it, he just clenched onto his arm rests and stared out the front window, I think he was a little nervous. But he loves it now and his cup holder is actually a toy holder, not a drink holder for some reason.

Two Random Things

So this is really random but I forgot about this picture. This is us standing in line at the mall to see Santa. This lady came up and asked if we put fake eye lashes on Tatton for the picture? It might be kind of hard to see in this small picture, but granted the kid does have long eye lashes... who would put fake ones on their little boy?? Yikes lady! Anyway, secondly, I've been a little hesitant to post about this but I figured the questions would come so I might as well let you all know the whole story that as of now we're not going to Vegas anymore. We were supposed to hear from the Academy sometime in February if Aaron made it or not, but this weekend we got a letter in the mail notifying Aaron that he would not be hired right now, and that he can apply again in December 2009. Seeing as how we weren't even expecting anything to come until February, we were both pretty devastated, it came out of nowhere. We always felt sure about this decision and so even though we joked about "Plan B" we didn't really plan for it. So now we're trying to figure out that "Plan B". Aaron still wants to be a cop so he's going to keep applying in other areas, and apply for Vegas again in December. Until then, I guess we'll be hanging around at my Mom and Dad's for a little while until we figure things out. The stay at my parent's was supposed to be temporary, but now my Mom is ecstatic that she has us for a little bit longer... we on the other hand feel like bums. Oh well, we'll figure it out, atleast we know that for some unknown reason Vegas wasn't right for us right now.

Happy Graduation Rusty!

Yes, this is my brother Rusty and he did just graduate with a business degree... The hair you might ask? Challise was in the back seat of the car and he left it in for some reason. Anyway, we had a little party for the grad with the fam. They brought up Rock Band and Wii Fit. It was a blast!! There were a lot more people later, a bit of table dancing, some rocking out with the guitars, but unfortunately I didn't get any of that on the camera. And we all ended up playing for so long we never even got to the Wii Fit, boo. Sadly the kids who play guitar hero all the time were the pros... kids these days... but I told Aaron we need to get one of these, it was good times!

Christmas Update

Alright, there you go. A long update of our Christmas. We managed to squeeze in a fun Christmas in between my obsessive reading of Twilight (I'm done.) Aaron and Tatton are very happy that I'm back into the real world. They were really good books, and I love the movie. Anyway, my dad's sleigh, titled "Grandpa's Sleigh" has been used a lot this year. With all the new snow, my dad's been busy out there. So of course we had to take Tatton on a Christmas Eve Sleigh Ride. It was good times as you can tell. Tatton got the hang of opening presents pretty quick, but he loved the bows the best for some reason. He's been stealing those for about the last month. And the candy canes are a hit with him, I would have thought they would be too hot but it doesn't seem to bother him so oh well. We had a lot of fun this year having a child to share the joy of Christmas with. I'm a Christmas Freak so it was nice to be able to pretend that the exitement for Christmas this year was just for Tatton...
